ways to support FRESHFARM Markets

FRESHFARM Markets is a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to strengthening the local food movement in the Chesapeake Bay region through our 11 producer-only farmers markets. We aim to create a regenerative urban-rural partnership that brings healthy, local food to our communities while protecting the working landscapes that feed us. FRESHFARM Markets is supported by market fees, foundation grants, corporate gifts and sponsorships, special events and individual donations. Every dollar is important to us and helps us operate our 10 farmers markets and expand our educational and outreach programs.

1. make a direct donation
- By making a direct donation to FRESHFARM Markets you are helping to ensure that everyone in the DC metro area has access to fresh, locally grown, affordable food while supporting regional farmers and producers.
  
  (You may also download, print and fill out our Donation Form, and mail it to us along with your check. We will not share your information with any other organization. All donations will receive an acknowledgment letter.)
2. sponsor us
- FRESHFARM Markets has proven to be an engine of local entrepreneurship, and we know that both individuals and businesses (national and local) can enrich those efforts. We hope that you will consider partnering with us as a market or program sponsor to enhance our farmers market neighborhoods and strengthen our educational activities. Through our sponsors, we can continue to reach both under-served and well-served populations of shoppers: friends, families, neighbors, environmentalists, gardeners, health professionals and new healthy eaters.
  
  We also encourage sponsorship of our annual Farmland Feast gala for those who wish to showcase their support of our markets through our premier benefit, named by DC Magazine in 2010 as "the locavore party of the year".

3. attend our annual farmland feast
- Support our markets and celebrate the bounty of the Chesapeake Bay by attending our annual Farmland Feast benefit on Monday, November 12, 2012 at the Ritz-Carlton DC.
4. donate via one of our nonprofit affiliates
- FRESHFARM Markets is proud to be a charity designated by the Catalogue of Philanthropy as one of the most trusted, community-based nonprofits in the Greater Washington region.
  
  Donations may also be made to FRESHFARM Markets through the Network For Good.
  
  If you work for a Federal agency, we invite you to support FRESHFARM Markets with your workplace giving through the Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area (CFC #99308).
5. host an event
- We are always delighted when our supporters plan and host events to raise funds for FRESHFARM Markets. In the past, and already in 2011, we've been lucky enough to benefit from local-restaurant happy hours, private parties hosted in homes, museum after-hours evenings, concerts and many other creative occasions.
  
  As the organizer of one of these special events, we invite you to choose the type of event, the audience and the percentage of the proceeds that will be donated to FRESHFARM Markets. We are happy to provide assistance with event promotion, a staff member to speak or participate, event signage, invitations and donation acknowledgements.

6. fundraise for us by saving with recoup
- ReCoup is a marketing/fundraising website that allows consumers to donate part of their discount on purchased items and to flip promotions to benefit their own causes, projects or schools through a single point of sale. Purchase somethng from the site and select FRESHFARM Markets as your cause. Any deal on the site can be "flipped" so that you can donate to us. You can donate up to the total discount, in addition to ReCoup's guaranteed 10% donation. Your additional gift is a tax-deductible charitable contribution. You will be recognized on the site for your donations, your referrals, and helping others.
7. volunteer
- Join the ranks of friends, neighbors and FRESHFARM Market insiders who lend a hand with weekly market tasks such as market setup and breakdown, staffing our market-information table, assisting at Chef at Market events, leading market tours and organizing market surveys.
